Upper and lower scan, the teeth you tagged, shade, material, and your own patient reference. Not the patient’s name — see below.
A named designer picks it up
Not a queue of anonymous contractors. You see who has your case and you can write to that person directly.
You get the file back
Open STL, PLY or OBJ — the same file you would have gotten from your own CAD seat. It’s yours; mill it wherever you like.

Why this is not the same as the other twelve tabs you have open
You can actually buy something
We looked at seventeen design outsourcing services selling into the US. Exactly one has a working cart with a card checkout, and it belongs to a milling company that sells design on the side. Everyone else is a contact form, an email address, or a WhatsApp number. Picking a tooth and paying for it is the whole point here.
You know who designed your case
Zero of those seventeen show you a designer. They sell a “team of 100+ certified designers” and never a face. You are handing clinical work to a stranger you cannot name.
We won’t quote you a fake accuracy number
Six of them publish a first-fit rate between 98% and 99.4%. None publishes a method. That range is noise. We would rather show you the real remake count.

One competitor serves Spanish speakers, with a typo in its own headline.
We do not want your patient’s name
A design service that receives a patient’s name, birth date and scan becomes a HIPAA business associate — which means a signed agreement, the full Security Rule, and your practice carrying our risk. So we built the other way around. You upload the case under your own reference. We never see who it belongs to.

One honest exception: a surgical guide cannot be planned without a CBCT, so guided cases do need one. Those run under a signed agreement with your practice and we say so before you upload — they are the only cases that do.
This is a design decision, not legal advice, and it is described exactly as it works. Before you rely on it, have your own counsel read it.
Works with what is already on your counter
If your scanner exports an open mesh, we can design from it. If it only exports through the manufacturer’s cloud, you send us the export from there — it works, it is just one more step.

Send PLY or DCM if your scanner offers it
A plain STL is geometry with nothing attached: no margin line, no shade, no colour. If you drew the margin at the chair, an STL throws it away and your designer has to guess where you wanted it. Both manufacturers say so themselves.
3Shape: exported STL files “will not contain any data exclusive to TRIOS, data such as shade measurement, color images and margin line”. Medit: margin-line colour survives only in “meditMesh, OBJ, and PLY”.
On iTero, scan as iRecord — not Invisalign
This one is decided before the scan exists and cannot be undone afterwards. A case captured under the Invisalign workflow can never be exported, so there is nothing for us to design from and the patient has to be scanned again.
Questions
Do I need my own CAD software?
No. That is the point. You need a scanner and somewhere to mill or print. We are the seat in between that you do not have to buy, license or staff.
What if the design doesn’t seat?
Tell us what is wrong and we redo it. A design that does not fit is not a finished case, so it is not a second invoice.
Who owns the file?
You do. It comes back as an open mesh with no lock and no platform tie. If you stop working with us tomorrow, everything you already paid for is still yours and still usable.
How do I pay?
Card at checkout, per case. No subscription and no monthly minimum. Practices sending steady volume can move to monthly invoicing by ACH, which is cheaper for both of us.
Can you do it faster?
Usually yes, and we will tell you honestly when we cannot. We are not going to promise you one hour on a full-arch case to win the click.
